Prince William has is the topic of conversation online following his actions on 4th July.
In general people are not impressed with Prince Williams actions.
Keep scrolling to find out why…
Fans are completely furious after finding out what he chose to do before the weekend.
Everyone knows the British Royal Family is one of most famous families in the world.
But, of the many members of the British family…
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, or William and Kate, as we know them best, are favorites of the younger, more modern monarchy.
Prince William is the elder son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana.
Since birth, he has been second in the line of succession to the British throne.
William began accompanying his parents on official visits at an early age.
In 1983, he accompanied them on a tour to Australia and New Zealand, a decision made by his mom, Diana.
At the time, the move was considered to be unconventional because the first- and second-in-line to the throne would be traveling together, and because of William’s young age.
Diana wanted him and his younger brother Harry to have more experiences than are usual for royal children.
Diana notably took her sons to Walt Disney World and McDonald’s, as well as AIDS clinics, and homeless shelters.
She even bought them items typically owned by teenagers, such as video games.
William was educated at 4 schools in the UK and studied for a degree at the University of St Andrews.
Like many of us, he even had a gap year, during which he spent time in Chile, Belize, and Africa.
But, on 31 August 1997, tragedy struck.
The car that Diana was traveling in through the Pont L’Alma tunnel in Paris suffered a horrendous crash. Diana was taken to the nearby Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The exact cause of the crash has long been up for debate, with some questioning the sobriety of the driver, and others blaming the irresponsible driving of paparazzi photographers.
William and Harry were left without their mother.
Over the years, as the boys have grown into men, William and Harry have ensured Diana’s memory hasn’t been forgotten, and regularly speak fondly of their late mom, who would have now been a grandma to 4 grandchildren.
William now has a family of his own.
In 2011, he married Kate Middleton, and the rest is history.
William and Kate have long been royal favorites.
Following their lavish, and highly documented royal wedding in 2011, Wills and Kate were thrown into the media spotlight, and we still can’t get enough of them.
They met while studying at university.
William met first Kate at the University of St Andrew’s in Scotland in 2001.
Though their relationship was on and off for years…
They clearly couldn’t stay away from each other, and their engagement was announced in 2010, 9 years after they first met.
And, ever since, we have followed them as their own little family grew.
In July 2013, Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born, becoming the third in line to the throne of Great Britain.
Kate emerged from St. Mary’s hospital in London in a blue polka dot dress, which many saw as a fitting tribute to Princess Diana, who wore a similar spotty attire herself some thirty-one years earlier.
Princess Charlotte followed shortly after.
Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana was born in May 2015, just under 2 years after her older brother.
The princess has actually made royal history.
Princess Charlotte became the first female royal to retain her claim to the throne, despite having a younger brother.
Before the Succession to the Crown Act 2013…
The birth of a son meant that he would leap over any older daughters in the line of succession.
Traditionally, Prince Louis would have overtaken Charlotte in the line to the throne.
But, now that Princess Charlotte hasn’t been ruled out by gender, Prince Louis remains fifth-in-line to the throne, while Charlotte is fourth-in-line behind her older brother, Prince George.
Now that you can see..
William and Kate really are paving the path to a more modern monarchy.
However this week, William has been slammed for a controversial 4th July move.
People are not impressed with the Duke.
The day prior to the pubs and restaurants opening in the UK…
William decides to visit his local bar – the Rose and Crown in Snettisham in Norfolk, just a few miles from his family home.
Before ordering a pint, the Duke of Cambridge could be seen using a nearby hand sanitizer dispenser to wash his hands.
He joined a group of people for a plate of fries and to chat to the owners of the bar.
It appears some people didn’t with Prince William’s move…
Twitter was flooded with people calling him out.
Many felt it was irresponsible…
His actions were encouraging people to fill up bars amid the pandemic.
Some also raised this point.
“If this was prince Harry or Meghan they will find a way to call them all sorts of names including alcoholics.”
Several felt like his visit gave others the wrong message.
Especially since he was technically breaking the lockdown rules, heading down to the bar a day before they opened – according to many angry Twitter users.
Some thought he was setting the complete wrong example…
“If our leaders are NOT bothered to lead, how they expect people to follow?”
In general people just weren’t pleased about it.
Reactions came in strong, to say the least.
Naturally, there were some who rushed to his defense.
Either way, he’s certainly ruffled some feathers.
