Celebrated Actress Passes Away After 45-Year Career

Beloved actress, Phyllis Somerville has passed away at the age of 76. She died of natural causes on Thursday (July 16) at her home in New York City,

Phyllis was most known for the following screen roles such as ‘The Big C, House of Cards, The Good Wife, and Castle Rock.’

Phylliss was an accomplished actress on Broadway.

Her manager confirmed her passing and her friends, family, and colleagues are all shocked by the news.

Phyllis’ manager, Paul Hilepo, released the following statement: “She was the consummate professional who lived her dream of being a working actress her entire life in NYC which spanned over 45 years. I will miss her greatly. Her friends and colleagues will miss her greatly as well.

While she had recurring roles in the shows mentioned above, she also had minor roles in Sex and the City, Law & Order, NYPD Blue, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and The Sopranos.

Somerville was no stranger to the silver screen, either.

She had roles in Leap of Faith, Little Children, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Stoker, and Poms.

Phylliss was born in Iowa City, Iowa, she moved to New York at a young age where she became Radio City Rockette.

Although she never did quiet achieve her dream, during the 45 years of her acting career she did build an impressive list of stage credits.

Despite not being a household name, her talents made some of our favourite television shows, movies, and plays better.

Many tv film fans will recall seeing the actress in small but very memorable roles.

Rest in peace, Phyllis. You will be missed!
