Boy, 6, is killed in a car crash just weeks after his brother drowned

Boy, 6, is killed in tragic car crash less than two months after his two-year-old brother drowned in a creek near their home

  • Ayden Roberts was killed Wednesday morning in a car crash in Borden, Indiana
  • His father over-corrected and was hit by two cars coming the opposite direction
  • The crash was so severe his car was split in half, and Ayden’s body was found on the other side of the road
  • This is less than two months after his younger brother, William, 2, drowned in a creek near the family’s home

A six-year-old died in a car crash on Wednesday, not even two months after his younger brother drowned earlier this year.

Ayden Roberts was killed when two vehicles collided with his father’s car in Borden, Indiana, which is about 20 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky.

The Sheriff’s office said Ayden’s father Peter Roberts, 25, and the two other drivers involved in the collision were all injured.

According to authorities, Peter Roberts was taking his son to school when he over-corrected and swerved into oncoming traffic, causing two other vechiles to collide with his car.

The collision was so severe that Roberts’s car was broken in two.

Janie Miller, who lives nearby but doesn’t know the Roberts family personally, told WLKY: ‘The dad got out of the car and said, “Where’s my boy”?’

The family lost both of their young sons in the first three months of the year, with William, 2, accidentally drowning, and Ayden, 6, killed in a car crash. A neighbor shared condolences saying that ‘it’s too much for one family to bare’

She explained that Ayden had been sleeping in the backseat, but immediately following the crash was no longer in the car.

His body was then found on the other side of the road.

Miller said: ‘I don’t even think anyone wants to try and think about how bad it would be. It’s too much for one family to bare’.

The resident was referring to the death of Ayden coming so soon after the death of his two-year-old brother William.

William drowned in a creek near his home after wandering off and getting lost in late January.

His body was found early on January 22, after an all-day search.

He went missing around 2.30pm on Saturday, the 21st while he was playing in his family’s yard. His mother, Julia Roberts, said that she looked away for just a moment and then he disappeared.
