Most famous role
Bob Saget touched many hearts during his successful acting career. He was born in Philadelphia in 1956. Although he wanted to become a doctor his English teacher encouraged his acting profession.
When he was thirty one he got the role for Danny Tanner in Full House which catapulted him into stardom as he instantly became a famous face. The show was a roaring success and became an iconic series that many associate during the 90s.
“I’m still a work in progress, but I’m really enjoying my journey of people telling me they grew up watching me,” Saget said.
When he completed recording sessions with Full House, Bob would sit in his dressing room writing lines for America’s Funniest Home Videos. In 1989 Bob hosted the comedy program for eight years.
In 2016, Bob once again starred as Danny Tanner when Netflix decided to do the spinoff, Fuller House. The show went on for six seasons and ended in 2020.
”It did really well with the kids market they were trying to capture. They wanted that demographic, and Fuller House helped them get it. We ended up getting six years of that show, which is just amazing,” Bob commented.
The show meant a lot to Bob and he made a huge impression on his co-actors. Once news surfaced regarding his death his friend and former co-star, John Stamos, was heartbroken.
The actor expressed his emotions on social media.
“I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock,” Stamos wrote on his Twitter account and continued: “I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby.”
Bob, was also mourned by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The twin sisters developed a special relationship with Saget during the show.
“Bob was the most loving, compassionate and generous man. We are deeply saddened that he is no longer with us but know that he will continue to be by our side to guide us as gracefully as he always has. We are thinking of his daughters, wife and family and are sending our condolences,” the sisters said in a statement.
Candace Cameron Bure, aka Donna Jo “D.J.” Tanner in Full House, tweeted: “I have no words. Bob was one of the best humans beings I’ve ever known in my life. I loved him so much.”
Jim Carrey, was shocked when he learned about his passing.
”Beautiful Bob Saget passed away today at 65. He had a big, big heart and a wonderfully warped comic mind. He gave the world a lot of joy and lived his life for goodness’ sake,” Jim Carey wrote on Twitter.
Final words and last hours
Bob looked forward to touring across the nation and making people laugh with his stand up show “I Don’t Do Negative,”
Hi first performance was on 7th January at the Hard Rock Live Orlando where Bob claimed it was a “perfect first show of 2022.”
Bob’s last standup act was on January 8th, in Ponte Vedra Beach. Following the show, he took time to hail the audience in an update on his social media accounts. His last words to his fans were posted less than 24 hours before he was found dead at his hotel.
It’s painful to read his last words – Bob seemed so happy and hopeful.
“I loved tonight’s show in Jacksonville,” Saget wrote. “Very appreciative and fun audiences. I had no idea I did a two hour set tonight. I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I’m finding my new voice and loving every moment of it. A’ight, see you in two weeks.
“Goin’ everywhere until I get the special shot. And then probably keep going cause I’m addicted to this,” he added, signing off with “Peace out. ✌️”
It is painful to see how quickly one’s ife can change.
Bob Saget was married twice during his life. Sherri Kramer was his first wife who he met before he became a well-known actor on Full House. They had three daughters: Aubrey Saget, Lara Melanie Saget, and Jennifer Belle Saget.
The first daughter’s birth was a nightmare.
In 1987 when Aubrey was born doctors performed a cesarean section and injected Sherri with the epidural in the wrong place which went straight into her bloodstream instead.
As Sherri became lifeless a nurse informed Bob that she was brain dead, however she came back to life.
”After a nightmare of harrowing proportions, a miracle had occurred,” Bob would later write in his autobiography.
Six terrifying days at the hospital, mother and daughter finally came home. But the incident deeply affected the family forever.
“We had been through hell and back. My wife and I would never be the same,” Saget recalled.
In 1997, Bob and Sherri were divorced after spending fifteen years together. Following their split, Sherri decided to keep a low profile away from the limelight.
Bob was devastated and prepared to be single for the rest of his life as he decided never to marry again.
”I was a cliché. A divorced guy wanting to do anything but deal with his own life,” Bob wrote in his book.
“I didn’t think I’d have a relationship again,” Saget explained: “I was kind of in that ‘just work, make people happy and take care of your kids until they’re 90’ mindset.”
However in 2015, Bob found true love again his life changed when he met Kelly Rizzo.
In 2018, the couple decided to get married. Following the ceremony Stamos wrote:
“Sometimes in life, the least likely person that you’d think would turn out to be your lifelong friend, someone who is there for you through the ups and downs and sideways’s- a brother and a confidant. Someone to laugh with and cry with, but mostly laugh with, – well Bob turned out to be all that and more,”
