Beautiful Moment for Depressed Dog Who Actually Found Closure Saying a Final Goodbye at the Funeral

Dogs are loyal creatures who are often referred to as a man’s best friend.  These faithful animals have often been found lying alongside lost children who were reported missing.

Sadie is thirteen year old border collie-dalmatian-shepherd cross that was adopted by the Beaulieu family when she was eight weeks old.

However the father passed away suddenly which seemed to devastate her.  Julia Beaulieu explains when emergency workers stopped trying to revive her husband, their pup laid down beside him and nudged his hand with her nose.

Julia was struggling to cope with the sudden loss of her husband and it seemed Sadie was also having a hard time. She would stare out the window, waiting for her owner to pull in the drive just like always.

Sadie lost 10 pounds as she couldn’t eat for almost ten days. Julia decided to include Sadie for her husband’s memorial service as she wanted her to say goodbye in person. When Sadie walked up to the casket with Julia, she stood on her hind legs and peered in.

The dog had a puzzled look on her face, and she stayed by Julia’s side the entire time.

Jeremy May of Elements Cremation, who organized the memorial service, said that pets are family and more people should bring their four-legged loved ones to services. A photo was shared to show how beautiful the bond is between humans and dogs.

“This photo has touched us so deeply at Elements Cremation, Pre-planning & Burial, and we and the family want to share it with you. This photograph captures a special moment between a man, his wife and their best friend. She had recently lost her dear husband to a sudden heart attack and wanted to see him one last time to say goodbye … After the death, she showed signs of depression, would not eat and waited for him to come home every day. The wife believed that Sadie could also benefit from saying goodbye and getting closure herself, and she was right!”

Once they returned home from the memorial service, Sadie walked in the door of her home and ate her first meal. Apparently the dog got the closure she needed by saying her goodbye at the service.
