What Cassidy didn’t know was that the girls had a plan more outrageous than anyone could have imagined.

As we go through life we are all affected by bullying in one way or another.

Many of us have seen people being subjected to bullying and even been the victims of bullying ourselves. It is not only children who suffer the the psychological and physical abuse of bully, many adults also suffer from being bullied on a daily basis making their lives a living nightmare.

Cassidy Trevan comes from Melbourne, Australia and she knew all too well of the effects of bullying.

For a long time she had been subjected to the ongoing torment of bullies. Not only was the bullying she suffered psychological, but from time to time it turned physical.

On a daily basis she was called names, tormented at school and on the internet as well. It went so far that her family home was even vandalized.

As the harassment and bullying got worse she could no longer attend school. It had got to a stage of severity where it had become too much for her to handle. Despite conversations with the bullies, things just did not improve.

Cassidy took a whole term off school while she got support and help to try and deal with the torment she had received. Eventually she was ready to give school another try. She started off slowly, attending just 2 days of the week to get back into it.

She had since received an apology from the girls that had tormented her so badly. They now offered to be her friend and had extended an invite for Cassidy to go to a festival with them.

This was an offer Cassidy wanted to accept. She had been cast to the side for so long, regardless of the fact these girls had mistreated her for so long. She just wanted to have friends she could have fun with and enjoy herself.

What Cassidy did not know was the girls had such a devious plan, no one would have imagined!

They took Cassidy to a nearby house where they had arranged for two boys to sexually assault her.

As the two boys attacked and raped the defenceless 13-year-old teen, the girls casually sat outside the house with not a care in the world.

Cassidy reported her nightmare ordeal to the local police, but the case was dropped due to lack of evidence. Everyone involved walked away “Scott” free.

After the ordeal her daughter had suffered, Cassidy’s mom, Linda decided it was best to move her daughter to a different school. They even moved house, but the bullies still found a way to get to her. They assaulted her in public, in shops and even made calls to her house asking Linda could they speak to her daughter.

Linda was doing everything she could, but still had to painstakingly watch her daughter deteriorate.
It eventually reached a point where Cassidy was barely able to get out of bed in the mornings.

Sadly in December 2015, she took her own life.

A while after her daughter had taken her own life, Linda discovered a letter Cassidy had written. This is a letter that everyone should read. A letter to all who bully and to everyone that has been bullied.

Here’s what she wrote:
“I was a student at (school name omitted) and I was raped by some of the students who still attend that school. I know this already probably sounds like attention-seeking but it’s honestly far from it. I have many reasons for doing this which I’ll also explain.

My aim is to warn other people (students mostly but also parents) about what happened because I’m worried if they could do it to me they could do it to other kids like me, or at least try to. You actually have the power to stop this from happening. Remember the people who did this to me were school students at (omitted), it’s hard to believe, I know. But it’s true.

I’m not doing this for revenge to those students that raped me, set up the rape, bullied me about the rape, teased me about the rape or anything like that. I’m also not doing this for attention seeking like I mentioned earlier, I want to make that clear.

I’m doing this because over 1500 students years 7-12 are currently enrolled at the school and they need to be warned. I feel because of what happened to me, and because the staff at the school did nothing to help me (which I’ll talk a bit more about later). It’s now my duty to warn you all and to make you aware of what happened. (Not just what you may have heard around school but what actually happened.)

But I’m also doing this for myself. I want to finally after 1 and ½ years be left alone. It’s surprising just how many students at (omitted) have heard stories of me and weirdly enough still get told stories of me to this day. I still continue to get students I’ve never met contacting me Facebook calling me a slut. I’ve moved schools, I’ve moved house and still I’m being contacted and bullied. I can’t stop people from spreading rumours, but at least I could try and spread what really happened seeing as it’s still being talked about anyway. But as I said this honestly is more so for students who are unaware of this and are in danger of those students.

My name is Cassidy Trevan, and I was raped.

If anyone ever tries this on you trust me it’s worth fighting! Fight! If you don’t you’ll regret it for the rest of your life like I do. You can do it.

Be careful. Be warned. Be safe.”

This letter was published by Channel 9 in Australia.

The death of one Young person due to bullying is one death too many.

No one in life should be made to feel so bad that it drives them to the point of taking their own life.

Everyone needs to work together to put a stop to events such as this happening. Teachers, parents, students, YOU! We all need to work to bring bullying to an end.

Nobody should ever have to feel so alone and helpless.

Linda’s grief will always be with her and she will never see her beautiful daughter again.

After finding her daughters letter she knew she had to talk about all the terrible things that happened her daughter in order to let the world know.

Cassidy’s story has touched thousands of people worldwide and I am sure will touch many, many more.

Help spread Cassidy’s last wish and put a stop to bullying. Share and Like and spread the word.
