Teacher Goes Against Usual Protocol When Girl Is Teased. Her Plan Catches On Like Wildfire

Kinsie Johns teaches third grader’s at Anette Winn Elementary School. This Georgia teacher love all her students and her job so much.
But one day at work, she became very concerned when she learned of events that had taken place in her very own classroom. The classroom is a place Kinsie regards as her top responsibility, s safe haven where every child should feel safe.
When Mrs.Johns discovered that one of the girls in the class was being severely teased and mocked she took action. But instead of dealing with it herself, she devised a very clever plan that would catch all of her students off guard.

The next day she walked into class and her students jaws dropped at the sight of her. It was obvious that it wasn’t what any of them were expecting…
As it turned out, Mrs Johns discovered one of her students had been wearing her hair in a style known as “space buns”. On Tuesday the little girl arrived at school with her hair in this style, by Wednesday her classmates were calling her space girl.

Angry by this mistreatment of one of her students, Mrs Johns decided to hatch a plan. She discussed the situation with the student being teased and liaised with her the plan of action she was about to take.
The very next day, her students were left in shock and awe when their teacher entered the class room. They could not believe their eyes, especially the student who had been teased.
“She was beaming when she saw me and the students noticed that our hair looked the same.”

Mrs. Johns posted on Facebook that she encourages her students to be themselves. She emphasized that “it’s okay to be different.” She then quoted Dr. Seuss.
“Why fit in when you were born to stand out!?”

What happened the day after Mrs Johns wore her matching space buns is what really shocked her. The whole class rallied around the bullied classmate copying what their teacher had done and wore space buns themselves.
“The little point I was trying to make turned into a huge support for my little friend. All the girls in my class are wearing their hair in ‘space buns’ and even some of the boys got involved! They all wanted to support her and we even got some second graders involved!”
