Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a common, chronic and long-lasting disorder in which a person has uncontrollable, reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) that he or she feels the urge to repeat over and over.
1 – Washer – If you use hand sanitizer more than 10 times a day….
2 – Checking Behaviour…Do you check to see if turned off the cooker 4 or 5 times in 30 minutes?
3 – Counting – do you count the numer of steps while walking up or down a stairs?
4 – Overzealous cleaning – Like with the hads this falls into the “Washers” category. Do you spend hours a day cleaning?
5 – Fears of Violence – Do you have an overbearing fear of violence or misfortunes happening?
6 – Organisation – Do you take your organisation to perfectionism, where it has to feel right?
7 – Unwanted sexual thoughts – OCD sufferers experiences random sexual thoughts that may not be appropriate, like groping a friend.
8 – Hating your looks – BDD (body dysmorphic disorder) is a condition related to OCD where people fixate on certain body parts they are unhappy with.
9 – Seeking Reassurance – Do you constantly seek reassurance from family or friends. “Is my house dirty” or “Did i do anything bad last night when we were out” Repeatedly asking can be a sign of OCD.
