John Travolta has shared a heartbreaking post on Instagram about the news of his wife, actress, and former model, Kelly Preston who has tragically passed away.
Now fans are sharing her last photo which has truly made the situation more heartbreaking.
Kelly Preston was taken from this world much too soon.
Her husband, John Travolta, confirmed that Kelly at the age of fifty-seven, Kelly has unfortunately passed away.
John Travolta and Kelly had been married for twenty-nine years.
They have two children: Ella, aged twenty, and Benjamin, 9. In 2009 their son, Jett, tragically passed aged sixteen.
Kelly had an impressive career of her own.
Born on October 13, 1962, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kelly started off her career all the way back in 1988 with her role as “Marnie Mason” in Ivan Reitman’s Twins.
She starred in the movie alongside other greats such as Danny Devito.
And we can’t forget Arnold Schwarzenegger, can we? What an iconic trio.
The role helped her gain the international attention she needed in order to keep her career going.
Soon after she moved to other more diverse roles in films including Citizen Ruth and For The Love of the Game.
But perhaps her most notable role was in Jerry Maguire.
Back in 1996, the actress played Avery Bishop, who was the girlfriend of the title character portrayed by none other than the man himself, Tom Cruise.
It tells the story of a sports agent with tremendous horrible luck…
To begin with, he gets terminated and afterward a progression of sad occasions lead him down a descending way until he winds up in a real predicament.
The movie was a good all-rounder, but there was one scene that really stood out…
And of course, you know the one I’m referring to…
The iconic punching scene.
In the scene, Jerry Maguire goes to see Avery at her work environment to ask for her help in restoring their relationship, however she wasn’t having any of it.
And after a little exchange, the mood completely shifted…
This at that point prompted Kelly Preston punching Tom Cruise in the face multiple times before kneeing him directly in the stomach. Ouch. What’s more, that is the place the line “I’m excessively solid for you, washout!” originates from, for those of you that didn’t have a clue.
Kelly’s career showed no signs of slowing down.
She went onto star in more blockbusters and starred alongside other prominent actors including George Clooney, Kevin Bacon, and Meg Ryan.
No matter how impressive her career was, it never stole the spotlight from who she was as a person.
In her lifetime, she was involved with many charities including issues surrounding education and drug reform which she was awarded for.
Her relationship with her husband also became a talking point for people.
She went onto star in more blockbusters and featured close by other conspicuous on-screen characters including George Clooney, Kevin Bacon, and Meg Ryan.
They shared similar views as the pair were widely known for their ties to Scientology.
In a 2009 interview, Kelly opened up about how her belief in Scientology helped her to deal with the untimely death of her teenage son.
But we especially loved it when they shared adorable snaps on their socials.
In any case, we weren’t expecting the report about Kelly Preston’s passing after her “mystery” fight with bosom malignancy.
John shared the devastating news via Instagram just this morning.
And it hit us pretty hard.
Tributes for the star poured in…
Josh Gad posted this to Twitter, saying he was in “absolute shock.”
And Russell Crowe also had some nice words for the late actress.
He described her as a “sparkly-eyed gem.”
Maria Shriver posted her well-wishes too.
Regardless, we weren’t expecting the report about Kelly Preston’s going after her “secret” battle with chest danger.
But there was one photograph in particular that made this all the more heartbreaking.
Kelly’s final photo on her Instagram showed her hugging her family last month on Father’s Day.
Within hours, the post was flooded with thousands of comments.
And it made the news all the more heartbreaking.
“Rest in peace, beautiful,” one fan wrote.
It’s been very difficult news to stomach.
And this user left this comment prior to Kelly’s tragic death.
As the second photograph on the post shows a heartwarming photograph of Travolta and their late son.
We hope that with time, the family are able to find peace.
Fans flocked to the photo to leave their own tributes to the beloved actress.
She captioned it: “Happy Father’s Day to the best one I know, we love you.”
Kelly Preston you will be missed dearly, RIP.
