This 5 year old boy swallowed a coin on the ride home from school. Luckily the bus driver was sharp enough to notice and deal with the situation as fast as possible.
Surveillance video shows Ginger Maxville jumping into action aboard a school bus in Oklahoma.
She was able to get behind the young child and perform the famous ” Heimlich maneuver ” which helped dislodge the coin and allow the child to breath again.
To perform this maneuver you must grasp your fist with your other hand and press into victim’s abdomen with a quick, upward pressure. Do not squeeze the ribcage; confine the force of the thrust to your hands
To perform the maneuver on a child you must be a little bit more gentle to help not to break anything in the process.
You can also perform this maneuver on your dog if he/she is choking but it is a little different. Check out the instructions below in case you ever need to do it.
